What Is iCSI?

The Institute of CyberSecurity and Innovation (iCSI) is a tuition-free magnet school program for San Antonio students that provides students with an immersive, hands-on education in the field of cybersecurity information technology, and emerging tech careers. iCSI offers a comprehensive curriculum that covers a range of certifications including CompTIA IT Fundamentals (ITF+), Network+, and Security+. Our magnet school program is distinguished by our robust infrastructure, tailored specifically for cybersecurity instruction, allowing students to engage with the latest technologies and methodologies in the field. This dynamic environment ensures that learners are not only gaining theoretical knowledge but are also developing practical skills that are directly applicable to real-world scenarios.
 
Our curriculum is designed to cover a wide spectrum of cybersecurity topics, ensuring students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. From foundational principles to advanced techniques, our courses are tailored to meet the demands of the evolving cybersecurity landscape. This approach ensures that our students are well-prepared for various certifications and real-world dilemmas by solidifying their understanding and preparing them for the challenges they will face in their future careers.

What You'll Actually Do

This isn’t classroom learning — this is practical, career experience:

  • Join clubs and teams like CyberPatriot or Girls Who Code.
  • Work with industry partners and go on field experiences.

How icsi Works

Students follow a structured pathway, building toward mastery and certification:

  • 9th Grade: Foundations — Intro to IT, networking basics, and cybersecurity principles.
  • 10th Grade: Networking — Earn CompTIA Network+ while configuring real systems.
  • 11th Grade: Security — Tackle Security+ coursework and defensive techniques.
  • 12th Grade: Specialization — Focus on areas like ethical hacking, cyber defense, or analytics and pursue advanced certifications or internships.
